Cirque Act 2- Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Hauntingly beautiful! This is a story of two completely shattered and broken people who come together in order to put the pieces of their shattered lives back together in the only way they know how.

Once again, Ms. Giannoccaro has created an amazing story that you will not want to put down. The second act of Cirque picks up where the first one left off and takes us on a whole knew emotional roller coaster of dark secrets, haunted pasts and the ability to love someone so much that you are able to look past all of the secrets to the person inside.

This story will make you laugh, cry and scream all at the same time. From the moment I started this book I was completely taken into the story. I felt like I was there, at Sivan's circus, watching the entire thing unfold before me. Through every dark and twisted turn, I followed these two people as they were forced to look deep within themselves to the root of all their issues and find who they are truly meant to be.

A truly beautiful but dark story and, I believe, a must read! Normally, this wouldn't be my kind of book, but I am so glad, so very glad, that I had it recommended to me. I will definitely be going back to read it again!

Her Warrior Angel (Her Angel Series Book 3)- Felicity Heaton

This is the third book in the Her Angel series and so far I think it was the best one yet.

What happens when an Angel Warrior falls in love with a half-demon mortal who actually hunts demons for a living, despite her own demonic blood? This story takes you on that journey as two people, from completely different sides of the tracks, come together with one goal and end up falling for one another. Will their love be enough to survive the scrutiny or will the weight of their sin threaten to tear them apart?

This book was so much more than just about the sex scenes. I mentioned in one of my other reviews of the first two books that the story-line just seemed to be filler for the sex, but not in this one. This one's story-line was actually very captivating and didn't revolve around it, which I found rather refreshing.

So much better than the first two so I've decided to keep reading this series.

Finding Fire (Bad Boys of the Underworld Book 1)- Mallory Crowe

Honestly, I was pretty burnt out on vampire novels but for some odd reason I chose this one book to read next and I was pleasantly surprised.

Each person/author has their own interpretation of what makes a vampire. This one stuck to the normals for the most part. Can't go out in the day, drinks blood, blah blah. But the thing I found interesting was the fact that they could reproduce in the normal way. That wasn't exactly something I was expecting as vampires are suppose to be dead right? No this isn't a spoiler, I didn't just ruin the book. This was mentioned in passing and it kinda stuck with me. That's all.

We meet Anna, who is actually a part of a group known as the "stakes". They all have one goal, to seek out vampires, though each person in that little group has their own reasons for it. When Anna actually meets one, she figures she is about to get all the answers she had been searching for for the last 15 years. What happened to her father and her best friend? What she wasn't expecting, was to be so captivated by said vampire. This book is all about their journey to get what they both want.

This is a stand alone novel, though there are other books in the series. Which I am not sure yet if I am going to read. It wasn't that this book wasn't good, because it was. But it wasn't one of those, OMG I have to see what's next. All in all I still give 4 stars for keeping my attention.

Cirque Act 1: Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Wow. That about sums up this entire book in one word. Wow. But that is definitely not a bad thing.

Cirque takes you on a dark and twisted emotional roller coaster full of twist and turns that you never see coming. Normally, this kind of book would not be something I find myself enjoying but the author had me hooked from the first chapter as the writing is absolutely incredible.

She manages to take something that is taboo and turn it into something beautiful. A work of art. A dark piece of art, yes, but a work of art none the less. And while a part of me loves that I liked this book so much, the other part of me almost feels dirty for how much I actually enjoyed it. And it wasn't just about the sex either.

This books takes you on the journey of becoming who you really are. No matter what dirty little secrets you might be hiding. It finds good even in the darkest of times, before shattering them all over again (Thanks Cliffhanger), and shows you that you should embrace even the darkest part of you, even if you are ashamed of it.

Yes it does have a circus theme and flashbacks of sexual abuse against a child, but it's explaining why these characters are the way they are. I know, for a lot of people, the circus and clowns don't make for a good read, I know I felt that way before reading this book, but don't let the theme keep you for what I believe to be an amazing story!

I can't wait for the second book to come out. This was amazing!

Demon Anarchy- Ashley Scott

I heard about this book in a Facebook event and decided to get it so I could check it out. I also volunteered to write a review for it here, on Goodreads and on Amazon for the author, though I kind of feel like writing reviews should be a given!

When I first started this book, it was actually a little difficult for me to read. Not because the story was boring or anything but because the writing style was different from the other books I had been reading. It took several chapters for me to get use to it and for the words to start flowing easier but once that happened, I couldn't seem to put it down.

This book is definitely action-packed and very suspenseful. It keeps you at the edge of your seat for every twist and turn, making it feel like you are on a roller-coaster of emotions. The character development is so complex and so amazing, you feel like you know them personally, which I always enjoy, and the story-line is absolutely amazing.

This book does move very fast and if you try to read it too fast you will find yourself slightly confused as to how you ended up somewhere completely different than you were two sentences ago. Again, this in no way takes away from the story! You just actually have to slow down and read it thoroughly!

For a new author, I think this book is absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in girls who can kick ass, demons, fights, and an all around good paranormal story!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, only because of how long it took me to get use to the writing style.

Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse Book 3)- Charlaine Harris

This book was actually a little slower than the others so it took me longer to read. It almost felt like the author was trying to draw out the story a little bit. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good story. But it definitely had those times where I almost wanted to skip through some of the more descriptive parts to get to something a little more exciting.

When Bill goes missing, Eric sends her to Jackson in order to find out what happened to him since she had the gift of Telepathy. She is paired up with a Werewolf named Alcide (one of the characters from the show actually) and together they discover what happened to Bill and then plan an elaborate rescue.

After everything is said and done, Sookie has pretty much had enough with the supernatural world and wants to live a normal life. As much as she can with what she can do, even going as far as rescinding the invitation into her home that she had given Bill and Eric.

This story had it's ups and downs. It had those really exciting times were I was sitting at the edge of my seat and focused solely on what was being read. But then it also had those moments that I continued to look at the page number or my watch to see just how long it was going to take to get more interesting. This is probably the slowest story out of the three I have read so far.

FaeTAL (FaeTAL Series Book 2)- Becca Moree

Becca Moree has done it again. Another book that made me want to skirt my adult responsibilities and climb into my reading area and shut the world out! In fact, that's exactly what I did (Except for shutting the world out, I have kids, I can't do that.)

At first, we kind of pick up where we left off in book 1, but then just when you think you are about to get some answers, BAM, we are in someone else's point of view and it leaves you sitting there stupidly with your mouth open wondering what the hell happened to these Characters you have grown to love in book one. Because that's the main reason you picked up the second book in this series, right? Now, I have said in previous reviews that I HATE it when the point of view keeps changing because that makes it hard to keep up with the story-line. I must admit that I spoke to soon. That or I hadn't found an author that knew how to do it smoothly. Until Now.

Another confession, when I first started this series and when I first met the author, I was apprehensive about the writing style. I am very picky with the books I read and the writing style has to be just perfect for me to get into them and previous authors that I have discovered through FB groups were not exactly my style. Let me just say this; Becca Moree knows her shit. She knows how to keep you wanting more. She knows how to write. And she knows how to tell a DAMN good story. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors! It also helps that she is a DAMN good person too!

I will admit that this book is different from the first. Not so much horror and gore as explaining what the Fae are as well as the bonds they share with there mates. Of course, we do still see the carnival of darkness and the asshole that is Fred (I WISH HE WOULD JUST DIE ALREADY! A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE DEATH). But it is not the center of the story anymore which I found refreshing! But that does not mean that ANYTHING was taken away from this series because it wasn't. It was still just as good of a story and just as well written as Carnival of Darkness was.

The ONLY complaint I have about this book/series, is that the next one isn't out yet. I am completely hooked on these characters and am in love with the story! Another one to add to my favorites!
